Lake Jacqueline Boat Ride

Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (1)
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (1) As we're getting ready to embark, we spy some kayaks heading in the direction of the Racquet Club.
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (2)
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (2) Our starting point on the south end of Lake Jacqueline looks to the Racquet Club on the right and the Community Center and Lakeside Center on the left.
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (3)
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (3) With a 300mm telephoto lens, the Breakwater Bridge looks a lot closer than it really is. Darn!
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (4)
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (4) We've traveled quite a distance from the south end of the lake, but the Breakwater Bridge is still a ways off. And after that, we have a LONG way to go!
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (5)
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (5) We're getting close to the south side of the Breakwater Bridge, but this is a big lake and our journey is just beginning.
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (6)
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (6) From the top of the Breakwater Bridge walkway, we look south to the Racquet Club docks and beyond to where we started this journey.
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (7)
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (7) From the Breakwater Bridge walkway (we had to get out of the boat for a second), still waters stretch north to the horizon.
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (8)
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (8) On the east shoulder of the Breakwater Bridge, we have a great view to the middle section of Lake Jacqueline, looking north.
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (9)
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (9) With a telephoto lens from the top of the Breakwater Bridge, Diamond Bay juts out on the left and Harbor Cove stretches out into the distance on the right.
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (10)
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (10) Spinnaker Cove casts a nice reflection on very still water.
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (11)
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (11) Spinnaker Cove has a nice park accessible from the lake by their residents, becoming visible at the far left.
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (12)
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (12) Behind Spinnaker Cove, we get a great view of the Spring Mountains with the Le Madre ridge in the background. The highest peak in the middle is 8,200 feet in elevation, and may be climbed with no equipment even on the cliffs that face us now.
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (13)
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (13) Oh, good! There's the north end of Lake Jacqueline way off in the distance. It'll still take us a while to get there, but we'll quit taking pictures until we turn around...
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (14)
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (14) OK, we didn't expect to see him. And what's he doing on a roof? He must be looking way over toward Lake Lindsey to the east.
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (15)
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (15) We're looking "downlake" at Diamond Bay on the right and Lakeshore on the left. Is that our bridge in the distance?
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (16)
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (16) Let's face it. I'm just too cool.
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (17)
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (17) As we continue south, Spinnaker Cove gives way to Diamond Bay on our right.
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (18)
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (18)
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (19)
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (19) With Diamond Bay on our right (west) and Lakeshore estates on our left (east), we approach the Breakwater Bridge.
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (20)
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (20) Like a "mod" pair of sunglasses, the arches of the Breakwater Bridge beckon us to the southern end of Lake Jacqueline.
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (21)
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (21) Finally passing the bridge, we first look for turtles that hang out here, and then to the east to Racquet Club townhomes that are next to the bridge.
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (22)
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (22) Now we're far enough south to spy the south end of the lake WAAAAAY in the distance.
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (23)
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (23) Some of the prettiest and most inspiring things you'll see on a boat trip (or a walk, for that matter), are the waterfowl.
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (24)
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (24) Rounding the Lakeside Center, we get a pretty and unique view of the Desert Shores Community Center.
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (25)
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (25) On the right, the Desert Shores Lagoon starts to be visible, and we can see the south end of Lake Jacqueline (at last!) in the distance.
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (26)
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (26) On the right, the Racquet Club townhomes and resident docks give way to the Breakwater Bridge.
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (27) (1)
Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (27) (1) As we head away from the Breakwater Bridge, the Lakeside Center comes into view.

Lake Jacqueline Boat Trip (30) They're just trying to prove they can swim faster than our boat, which they can.
